HOW DOES TATTOO NUMBING CREAM & NUMBING SPRAY WORK?

Our signature tattoo numbing cream & numbing spray is highly rated by tattoo lovers and tattoo artists alike, allowing you to fully relax and get your tattoo completed in one session. For many, the most off-putting part of getting tattooed is the pain. HOW TO USE TATTOO NUMBING CREAM & NUMBING SPRAY

In order to ensure maximum numbing, please DON’T DRINK ANY FORM OF ALCOHOL within 24 hours of tattooing, or the numbing may not be as effective or long lasting. Please spot test the day prior to use on a small area that’ll be tattooed the next day, especially if you have sensitive skin for 10-20 mins on a small area to ensure that your skin doesn’t become inflamed. Some minor localised redness is normal. Steps for use: Wash and exfoliate the area to be tattooed, lasered or pierced quite thoroughly with soap, water and exfoliator to remove dirt and dead skin this will help the cream penetrate. Dry area completely. Apply a thick amount of numbing cream (2mm thick) to the area and rub in thoroughly. Cover with cling film. The heat under the plastic wrap helps activate the cream and keeps the cream from drying out. Leave cream and wrap in place for 90 minutes before procedure. After 90 minutes, remove the cling film and wipe the cream away with paper towel and you’re ready for your pain free tattoo! If the cream starts to wear off then you can apply the Numbing Spray to extend your pain free experience.

HOW LONG DOES TATTOO NUMBING CREAM & NUMBING SPRAY LAST FOR?

The effects of tattoo numbing cream last for up to 3-4 hours after application. It will gradually become less effective and sensitivity will start to return to that area of the skin after this time. Keep in mind that it should be applied at least 30-60 minutes before a tattooing session for it to have maximum effect. This means that timing is crucial when it comes to applying the cream. You don’t want to apply it too late, but also not too early so that it begins to wear off during your session. If you know that your tattoo artist may need some time to set up, it might be a good idea to take your tube of tattoo numbing cream with you to the shop, so you can apply it at the right time. The Numbing Spray can be applied on broken skin and usually lasts about 60-90 minutes and sometimes more!

WHAT ARE THE DO’S AND DON’TS BEFORE GETTING A TATTOO?

48 hours before getting a tattoo you shouldn’t drink any alcohol or caffeine. These substances can thin the blood and make the tattooing process a lot more bloody than necessary. You should apply our tattoo numbing cream 90 minutes before the procedure ensuring that you apply a thick layer and wrap the area in clingfilm. Just before the procedure, wipe the tattoo numbing cream off the skin and relax while your tattoo specialist creates art!

WHAT ARE THE DO’S AND DON’TS AFTER GETTING A TATTOO?

You shouldn’t exercise for the first 48 hours after getting your tattoo. This is because your muscles expand and stretch the skin, and adding this into the mix with sweat can slow down the healing process. As hard as it may be, you shouldn’t pick, rub or scratch your tattoo as it can damage the art. Don’t soak yourself in a bath until your tattoo is completely healed, if you need to wash your tattoo, use our tattoo soap and salve. You should also moisturize your tattooed area regularly. At the end of the day, getting a tattoo is a surgical procedure that will open your skin up to the elements. If you do not correctly look after your tattoo, you could reap the consequences of it getting infected, altered or scarred.

WHAT DOES TATTOO PAIN FEEL LIKE?

Most people describe the feeling as a vibrating pricking or pinching sensation. People have compared it to a bee sting or a hot needle being scratched against your skin which most people are fine with for a short period of time but it can become quite painful and draining after a number of hours.

DO YOU WASH OFF NUMBING CREAM?

You should wash off your tattoo numbing cream after it has been applied for 90 minutes. It will be most effective if you wash it off and it won’t interfere with the process.
